Bead Blast - Tile & Stone Cleaning Services

Downunda Aquatic Environments is proud to announce our newest service! This service uses a mixture of sand and glass beads shot at an accurately calibrated pressure to gently remove unsightly calcium, mold, mildew and hard water deposits from ceramic tile, grout, flagstone and natural rock found on waterline, sheer descents, accent features and decking.

The remnants of the procedure are then vacuumed and cleaned. Then, a seal is applied to the restored area to help protect the surface. Not only is our system effective, it is environmentally friendly, especially when  compared to less dependable chemical alternatives.

What is Bead Blasting?

Bead Blasting is the process of safely removing calcium deposits from pool tiles or any other surfaces by applying fine glass beads at a low pressure output that removes hard calcium deposits without damaging the surface. The process also removes imbedded fungus and brightens grout color. Bead Blasting is an effective way to clean pool tile, grout, coping, moss rock and boulders.

What to expect from our service?

We will first lower your pool level to expose all tiles for proper cleaning. We will then gently restore your pool tiles look through our gentle bead blast process. Upon completion, we apply a special bonding agent over the newly cleaned tile to give it a new gloss look while providing a level of protection which in turn makes weekly cleaning easier. Lastly, we remove all fine glass beads from your pools floor through external vacuuming equipment. We do not use your pool filter for this process.

Bead Blasting vs. Tile Replacement?

Many individuals who own swimming pools find Bead Blasting to be an economical alternative to tile replacement. The process of replacing a pools tiles that have been aesthetically ruined by calcium deposits can be very costly. Bead Blasting generally can cost one fifth the price of tile replacement. If you are considering tile replacement feel free to schedule an appointment for a free estimate to see if Bead Blasting may be a viable alternative.
